New Walking Shoes, Father's Day and Dr. Aunt Mer!
Well, I gave myself a month of walking before I would purchase a pair of REAL walking shoes....and here they are! Merrell purchased at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets for under $50! Picked up many bargains there, Coach wallet, Jamie's father's day present{pair of Merrell shoes to wear indoors as he does not "do" bare feet, told you we are complete opposites} and a whole lotta odds and ends!
Congratulations Marie on passing your thesis. Been a long but fast almost six years. You are brilliant and are excellent at what you do, you have a gift not many have and use it well, not to mention my kids love your lab toys and think you have a totally cool job!
We were on the campus of University of Pennsylvania {where my sister got her PHD from} and my kids all called out "castle". Well, while posing for a picture in front of it, a guard came out and Griffen was leaning on the door, and you can see what happened as I snapped the shot! He was totally ok, but totally confused as to how he opened the door.
This is the building that a scene from the movie Transformers 2 was filmed in. Boys are in the corner down there and loved the idea that they got their picture in front of it. Now, to see the movie which starts today, sometime soon.
Girls needed a picture and they chose this one of course.Friday, June 19, 2009
Bad Mother Am I!
Last night while laying in bed, I realized I had not posted Sawyer's birthday, between a busy weekend, purchasing the new van and me getting sick, it slipped the blog mind of me....his 5th birthday was Monday. He and I went to Toy's R Us and did the usually walking around the store, and he quickly knew he wanted Lego's and Transformers. I love him so, for he is so sweet and kind and so easygoing when it comes to shopping. 5 years ago also marks the anniversary that Buck{my youngest brother} served his first tour of Iraq~we missed his farewell and the really cool night vision goggles they use, you know, the ones where it looks like day at night? I never did get to try them, but am thankful to have both those boys in my life!
Happy Belated Birthday Sawyer!
Sawyer is not crazy about having the spotlight on him......takes after him mom in that area!

Ocean City New Jersey
The first Sunday of summer break started with a day at the shore. Eve and Tessa left early Saturday with the Gladieux family, with whom we met up with on Sunday to enjoy the day with. My mom, sister and Ian also joined in on the adventure, for after all, we are an adventure, or so we are told by many who join us on such adventures with! It was gorgeous weather, a bit of a cool feisty wind, but that did not stop any of us to enjoy hours on the beach. Even Aspen enjoyed the day and was no where near cranky, even though he so wanted to stretch his legs and crawl around. The water to start off with was cold, but you got used to it fairly fast. Blue skies, bountiful sunlight and huge crashing white waves were out view for the day. It was a very beautiful day~one that I will forever cherish the memories that were made!
I believe out there is Ryder, Scott, Eve, Sarah, Dawson, Tessa and Sophia. They were out pretty far on the sand bar and really enjoyed jumping waves out there.
Aspen really loved it. We thought the water would be too cold for him. It probably would have been, but I could not resist to put his chubby little feet in, needless to say, he loved it and we should have given him the chance to sit in it. Another trip this summer perhaps?
Tessa~the fish of the family
The end to a gorgeous day!
On another note, Aspen is now pulling up. Yes, pulling himself up to a standing position! He just may beat Ryder's record of walking at nine and a half months....to be continued........
