So, I have a plenty of pictures to share, most of them have been taken by Miss Eve, but not a lot of time{isn't that always the case?} I have broken them into three posts, the first being the typical traditions we have started here in this household. Most if not all were traditions of my childhood and how do I love sharing them with our children! First was the Chex Mix, which is more ohhhh, 4x the recipe, I kinda just wing it, but one thing I know of is I use a whole box of all four Chex's and a plenty more of seasoning and such ;) Yes, it is that good they scurry to the table to dig into their favorite pieces while still fresh hot out of the oven! Can you just smell it.....mmmmmm, it is almost all gone, lasts all but 2-3 weeks in this house!
Next is the Spritz cookies....by far my favorite! These batches were done by Eve, and the decorating by the children. They are all gone, maybe a few on the more browner side are left.
Another tradition, my Aunt Betty's fruit bread. This is my second attempt and I must say, it was good, not great nor will it ever be as good as hers. This is one of my favorites and always reminds me of Christmas at my house. The children are eh about it yet....like I said, it was good not great~yet!
And yesterday was a day for Russian Teacakes. The children love these and you can always tell when they have snuck into the container, their shirt generally tells the story of powder sugar down the front, not to mention the dirty kitchen counter and floor, but it is only one time a year right!
